Trans-disciplinary Challenge Award Competition 2017

The competition is to round off the two GS’ trans-disciplinary research workshops held earlier in March. The two workshops were on Big Data Applications and Complex Social Networks, presented by Dr Reynold Cheng and Professor Liaquat Hossain respectively.  Upon completing the workshops, the participating students have summarized their collaborative research ideas in posters, and the following four posters are selected to compete for the upcoming Trans-disciplinary Challenge Award 2017:

In the competition, each selected group will have five minutes to present its research proposal, followed by a 10-minute Q&A with the judges.  Evaluation will be based on the subject matter of the proposed research, presentation of the students and the poster itself.  The best group will be awarded $1,000 worth of book coupons.

We are honoured to have Professor John Bacon-Shone (Associate Director, Knowledge Exchange Office) and Professor Hongzhe Sun (Professor, Department of Chemistry) to be the judges for the competition.  Professor Sam-Po Law, Associate Dean of the Graduate School, will chair the competition. 

The four posters will be on display at the Postgraduate Hub from May 11 to 13.  Come to read the posters and support the presenting groups!
